"Experimental-folk / Alternative-rock combo, blending many different sounds from Israel, Italy, UK and Turkey. Viola, Guitar, Loop, Synth & Cajon our gears. GHOM embraces dream pop and experimental vibes with Eastern music, layering loops & girl /guy voice.
Maya Felixbrodt & Rob Talin met in Istanbul by playing Viola and Guitar in the indie folk-pop project MavaRoz. Maya comes from the experimental music scene of The Netherlands and Rob from the noise-grunge scene of North of Italy. In 2017 the duo relocated to Amsterdam and established the new sound of Ghom together with Ali Çağlar Erdoğan (percussion) who brought his Turkish background and Indian music influences.
Last year Ghom performed all around Amsterdam: Home of Art, Zaal 100, OT301, Vrankrijk, Checkpoint Charlie, De Ruimte, Plantage Dok and more and in summer 17' toured in Sicily. They also organise the "FREAKS OUT!" Festival @ the Vondelbunker. Their music project involves a guy and girl voice, colorful percussive sounds, loops, many sound effects and some personal lyrics. Spacing from alternative rock to instrumental sounds, from country tunes to Turkish folk rhythms, all with an experimental touch.
In November 2017 David Gould from the UK joined the band by playing synth and backing vocals."
