Meetup is a platform that brings people together to do what matters most to them.Meetup brings people together in thousands of cities to do more of what they want to do in life. It is organized around one simple idea: when we get together and do the things that matter to us, we’re at our best. And that’s what Meetup does. It brings people together to do, explore, teach and learn the things that help them come alive.
If you're interested in getting acquainted with Amsterdam’s rich contemporary culture, if you enjoy attending cultural events, intimate concerts and if you’d like to make new international like minded friends, the Home of Art Amsterdam Meetup group is for you. We aim to promote art in the broadest sense possible and also if you’re not an artist, we encourage you to participate in our social gatherings.
We meet up a few times a month, often on Thursday or Friday evening for a glass of wine (or beer) and a chat, Saturday morning for a cup of tea and some inspiring discussions and for example Sunday afternoon for a unique and intimate concert. Most events are for free, we make sure drinks are affordable and sometimes you can have a homemade bite, donation based.
We are open to new events, send us a message if you have any ideas, need a space, or would like to co-organise or host something.
Our members (We prefer to call them Family) are from all over the world and most of them are between 17 and 70 years old. We strive to making everybody feel at home, to create a home for everyone. Our meetups are approachable and accessible for all. At Home of Art it’s possible to lie down during a concert or to pass by to just read a book, to play our piano, we also have different artistic materials available if you would like to for example draw or paint in an inspiring space. For the “Nieuw- Amsterdammers”, we have even organised informal sessions to get acquainted with and practise Dutch with natives.
